Season One, "What's in Your Cup," is entirely about you—your health, identity, energy, and emotional wellbeing. Because here's the truth that often gets overlooked: caregiving is not just about what you give; it's about how you refill, protect, and care for your own cup. As Emma Hemming Willis wisely notes in her book "The Unexpected Journey, "Caregiving asks everything of us, yet somehow we must find ways to keep something for ourselves."   When nearly 60% of caregivers report their health worsening due to caregiving responsibilities, this conversation isn't just important—it's essential.

Every Tuesday from October 7th through December 8th, 2025, you'll receive six core episodes filled with real talk, self-discovery tools, and practical strategies, plus bonus content including mini pep talks and journaling prompts between episodes. We'll kick off with "Refilled and Reimagined: What's in Your Cup Today," setting the foundation for your journey back to yourself. Whether you're new here or have been listening since day one, this season is your invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with what makes you whole. Welcome to the Caregiver Cup Podcast, season 1, what's in your Cup. We're helping you discover your unique caregiving rhythm because your cup matters. Well, hey there, my friend, it's Kathy Vanden Heuvel and welcome, or welcome back to the Caregiver Cup podcast. You may have noticed things look a little different around here, and that's intentional. After more than 260 episodes and walking through some of the most personal caregiving seasons of my life, I took a much needed pause and now I'm back with a renewed rhythm and purpose. I'm calling each of my blocks of episodes called seasons. Season one is going to be called what's in your Cup, and it's all about you, your health, your identity, your energy, your emotional well-being your identity, your energy, your emotional well-being Because caregiving is not just about what you give. It's about how you refill, protect and care for your own cup.

I love the new book from Emma Hemming Willis and that's Bruce Willis' wife. She writes in her new book, which is called the Unexpected Journey. She says caregiving asks everything of us, and yet we must find ways to keep something for ourselves. That's exactly what this season is all about keeping something for you. And did you know that, according to the National Alliance of Caregiving, nearly six to 10 caregivers report their own health has worsened because of caregiving. I think that's actually low, but 60%. That's why this season is an invitation to pause, to reflect and to discover what you need in your cup to stay strong and whole. To stay strong and whole In this new season format, I'm bringing you six core episodes filled with real talk, self-discovery and practical tools, and I'm going to throw in some bonuses and mini pep talks and journaling prompts in between those six core episodes to keep you grounded and encouraged.

So season one runs every Tuesday from October 7th 2025 through December 8th 2025. So October until early December. So, whether you're brand new here or you've been listening from the very beginning, this is your season of episodes to pause, reflect, breathe and reconnect with yourself. Season one kicks off with episode one called Refilled and Reimagine what's in your Cup Today. So that's a good one and that's going to be next week.
